Group Reports

We’ve added Group Reports as an established set of templates.  Create and utilize these templates to quickly visualize the progress of resource teams and project groups.

Where do I find Group Reports?

You can find these set of reports along the sidebar of the screen.  Alternatively, you can also navigate to the report homepage and select the report folder.

What Group Report Templates are there?

There are two sets of templates created within this folder of reports.

  1. Project Groups.
  2. Resource Groups.

Within Project Groups the templates are as follows:

  1. Scheduled Time.
  2. Reported Time.
  3. Project Burn.

Within Resource Groups the templates are as follows:

  1. Scheduled Time.
  2. Reported Time.
  3. Forecasted Utilization
  4. Forecasted Availability
  5. Project Burn.

What’s a Project Group?

A project group allows you to create a set of projects together within one group.  For example, if you had multiple projects for one client. It would be handy to navigate to the client as a group and you have sight of all projects associated to that client. For reporting mesures, you will be able to report by Group.

What’s a Resource Group?

Resource Groups allow you to group together a number of resources.  You can also add any unassigned work to a resource group. For example, you create a group ‘Designers VanCity’ who are a number of resources who are designers based in Vancouver.

Are Project Groups and Resource Groups the same as Smart Groups?

Not exactly.  Smart Groups are a premium extension of Hub Planner.  Working alongside Custom Fields, you can actually automatically create groups based on criteria and filters you set.  For example, you wish to create a group called React(JS) – London. By setting conditions from the drop down list such as:

  • Status – Active Resources
  • Tags – Skill Base using React JS
  • Location – Based on London, UK.

Any resources who meet the conditions and criteria will be pulled into the group.  Find out more about Smart Groups Extension.

What reports can I produce from Group Reports?

Within Project Groups you can produce the following:

  • Scheduled Time
  • Reported Time
  • Project Burn

Within Resource Groups you can produce the following:

  • Scheduled Time
  • Reported Time
  • Forecasted Utilization
  • Forecasted Availability
  • Resource Burn

I don’t have access to Group Reports

Note, you must have rights to access Group Reports.  For example, you may need to be an Approver or Project Manager to view the templates.  However, if they are saved within the Internal Reports Folder which hosts all company wide reports.  There maybe access for you there.
