Resource Reports
Generate reports by specific resources or resource groups. Â There are 4 report categories you can generate from.
- Scheduled Time
- Reported Time
- Forecasted Utilization
- Forecasted Availability
- Booking Categories
- and Resource Burn.
While some may be self explanatory, let’s take you through each of them to ensure that you are optimizing the most out of Hub Planner’s reports.
Scheduled Time
Ok, so the clue is in the title right. Â When you have the billing panel enabled within your scheduler. Â You have sight of real time information in terms of scheduled and actuals. Â This information comes in the form of hours and finance. We are going to look at the hours scheduled.
Your billing panel will show you all hours calculated that are due to be scheduled on the project in question. Â So, that would mean any hours planned and allocated to the project. Scheduled time will most likely represent time forecasted. Â However, it can also be time scheduled that has from the past that has not yet been reported.
The Scheduled Time templates produces a report that show any time scheduled to a resource. Â The template has defaulted to include scheduled time from this month, to date, future and all time. Â Â You can edit the dates and type of resources via the Report Builder.
Using the Home Reports Folders?
- Within the Reports Home Page click on the ‘Resource Reports’ folder.
- Click the ‘Scheduled Time’ icon.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with any time scheduled.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | This Month  | To Date | Future | All Time which will display the total hours scheduled.
How to generate a Resource Report of Scheduled Time using the Sidebar?
- Within the Reports home page, click ‘Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click ‘Scheduled Time’.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ Resources with any time scheduled.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | This Month  | To Date | Future | All Time which will display the total hours scheduled.
How to view scheduled time report of selected resource by project
- Continuing from the previous steps from the table displaying Active Resources, simply click on the Resource Name you wish to activate.
- Now a list of projects with scheduled time tagged to the selected resource will display.
- The report has broken down the hours by project under the same headings:  Project Name | This Month  | To Date | Future | All Time
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ projects with any time the resource is scheduled on.
Reported Time
Similar to resource scheduled time. Â The Reported Time templates produces a report that show any time reported via timesheets by resource. Â The template has defaulted to include reported time from this month, to date, future and all time. You can edit the dates and type of resources via the Report Builder. Â Â Â You can navigate to the next level to view project time associated to the resource.
Using the Home Report Folders?
- Within the Reports Home Page click on the Resource Reports’ folder.
- Click the ‘Reported Time’ icon.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with any time reported.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | This Month  | To Date | Future | All Time which will display the total hours reported.
How to generate a Resource Report of Reported Time using the Sidebar?
- Within the Reports home page, click Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click ‘Reported Time’.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with any time reported.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | This Month  | To Date | Future | All Time which will display the total hours reported.
How to view Reported Time of selected project by Project
- Continuing from the previous steps from the table displaying Active Resources, simply click on the Resource Name you wish to activate.
- Now a list of projects with reported time by the selected resource will display.
- The resource is broken down by the hours by project under the same headings:  Project Name | This Month  | To Date | Future | All Time
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ projects with any time reported by the resource.
Forecasted Utilization
This resource report allows you to plan and manage schedules more effectively by analyzing the percentages of utilization from a birds eye view. The resource report templates facilitates three date ranges including last month, this month and next month. Â A good way to optimize this report is by using the sorting features for the columns. Sort to view and identify any resources who are under / over utilized. By using the inline edit feature, you can easily alter the dates to customize the resource report. Â The resource report data produced is returned as a percentage bar chart making it easily to symbolise utilization.
The data columns are as follows:

Using the Home Report Folders?
- Within the Reports Home Page click on the ‘Resource Reports’ folder.
- Click the ‘Resource Utilization’ folder.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with forecasted utilization rates.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | Previous Month  | This Month | Next Month which will display forecasted utilization rates.
How to generate a Resource Report of Forecasted Utilization using the Sidebar?
- Within the Reports home page, click Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click ‘Reported Time’.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with forecasted utilization rates.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | Previous Month  | This Month | Next Month which will display forecasted utilization rates.
Forecasted Availability
Similar to Forecasted Utilization. Â However, this resource report reverses the percentage to show you their procurable availability. Â Again, split into three varying date ranges of previous, present and next month. Use the sorting feature to view resource availability at the varying levels. Prepare and make informed decisions based on this resource report that synopsizes availability. Â Also not forgetting that by utilizing the inline filter options you have a range of options to alter the template. Add more filters, remove and organize columns. Opt to save, share or favour the report for future use.
The data columns are as follows:

How to generate a Resource Report of Forecasted Availability using the Sidebar?
- Within the Reports home page, click Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click the ‘Forecasted Availability’.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with forecasted availability hours.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | Previous Month  | This Month | Next Month which will display resource forecasted availability hours.
Booking Categories
Produce a report of how much resource time is being scheduled by Booking Category. Â If you haven’t set them up yet, have a look at the best way to color code booking categories before you do. Â From here you can actively see where time has been spent or scheduled by booking category. For example, you might see that the design stage of the process is taking up a lot of resource time. Â You might need to allocate another resource here. These reports allow you to asses and forecast demands along the process allowing for strategic implementations.
Using the Home Report Folders?
- Within the Reports Home Page click on the Resource Reports’ folder.
- Click the ‘Booking Categories’ icon.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘booking categories’ with any time scheduled.
- The table headers titles are: Booking Category Name | This Month  | To Date | Future which will display the total hours scheduled.
How to generate a Resource Report of Booking Categories using the Sidebar?
- Within the Reports home page, click Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click ‘Booking Categories.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘booking categories’ with any time scheduled.
- The table headers titles are: Booking Category Name | This Month  | To Date | Future which will display the total hours scheduled.
How to view resources time of selected booking category?
- Continuing from the previous steps from the table displaying booking categories, simply click on the Booking Category you wish to activate.
- Now a list of resources with scheduled time by the selected booking category will display.
- The booking category is broken down by the hours scheduled to resources under the headings:  Resource Name | This Month  | To Date | Future
- The interface will now show a table displaying all active resources with any time scheduled to the booking category.
Resource Burn
The resource burn report is handy to assess the progress of resources project burn rate. Â Â The report displays a list of resources with the total amount of project burn assigned to each resource. Â There are 3 columns displaying the project burn rate for this month, future and all time.
You can continue one level further to view which projects are consuming the resources time. Â Here you will view a list of projects with project burn rates. There are 3 columns displaying the project burn rate for this month, future and all time.
Using the Home Report Folders?
- Within the Reports Home Page click on the Resource Reports’ folder.
- Click the ‘Resource Burn’ icon.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all active resources and the total project burn rates of projects assigned.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | This Month  | Future | All Time which will display the total project burn rate.
How to generate a Resource Report of Resource Burn using the Sidebar?
- Within the Reports home page, click Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click ‘Resource Burn’.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all active resources and the total project burn rates of projects assigned.
- The table headers titles are: Resource Name | This Month  | Future | All Time which will display the total project burn rate.
How to view resources burn rate time per project?
- Continuing from the previous steps from the table displaying booking categories, simply click on the Resource you wish to activate.
- Now a list of projects with burn rate for each project by the selected resource will display.
- The resource is broken down by the burn rate assigned to resources under the headings:  Project Name | This Month  | Future | All Time
- The interface will now show a table displaying all active projects with any the burn rate per project.
How to change the date range for the report?
- Within the Reports home page, click Resource Reports’ on the left sidebar.
- Click ‘Scheduled Time’.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ resources with any time scheduled.
- Navigate to the top right hand side of the interface where you will see the default dates entitled ‘This Month:’.
- Simply click on the date to allow the pop up to appear.
- Select your desired range of dates from the drop down list of options.
- Alternatively create your own custom date range by entering in the date data by calendar.
- Lastly, click ‘Apply’.
- Any resources with scheduled time within your created date range will now show.
How to Use the Inline Filter
- At any stage of the table, you can create a filter under any of the columns to amend what is displayed.
- Options include
- Equal
- Greater Than
- Greater Than or Equal
- Less Than
- Less Than or Equal
- Not Equal
- To alter, simply click on the ‘upside down triangle’ on the top right of each column. Â Â The pop up list of options will appear.
- Select your desired option and enter the value.
- Click ‘Filter’ to apply or ‘Clear’ to revert back.
- The interface will now show a table displaying all ‘Active’ Projects / Resources with any time scheduled in accordance to your filter.
Can I sort in ascending / descending order?
- To change the sorting of the results simply click on the column header you with to sort by.
- Click again to change back.
- A black triangle will appear to show which column you are sorting by.
How to change what is displayed within each column?
There are two ways in which you can access to change.
- From the sidebar, while hovering upon any of the options – you will notice a cog (settings) icon. Â Click on this to access the pop up filter settings.
- From the table within a report. Â Click on ‘Columns’ from the toolbar of options located at the top of the table.
- There are 100+ column options for you to choose from.
- Simply click your desired column options.
- You can drag and drop columns in order of preference.
- You can also alter the date range at the top of the pop up.
- Filters and Grouping are also options to access here.
- To activate, simply click ‘Generate’ at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
